10/1     Deadline for establishing a new safe harbor 401(k) plan

10/1     Deadline for setting up a SIMPLE for 2020

10/15   Extended deadline for filing 2019 Form 5500

10/15   Extended deadline for filing 2019 Form 8955-SSA

10/15   Extended deadline for filing 2019 individual tax returns

10/15   PBGC Comprehensive Premium filing and payment deadline

11/1*   2020 SIMPLE notice due to current participants

11/15* Deadline for distributing Summary Annual Report only if the IRS Form 5500 filing extension was due to the plan sponsor’s tax return extension

*This date falls on a Sunday. The IRS historically hasn’t extended due dates for required disclosures, contributions or distributions.
