AREAS OF SPECIALTY
Trust and estate income taxation, planning and consulting, gift and estate tax return preparation and review, estate and business succession planning for high-net-worth individuals, charitable planning, college funding, and savings planning.

Alan Pecora has over 30 years of experience working with estate and trust clients. He worked at law firms for nine years concentrating in trust and estate administration and planning, and has been in the Trusts and Estates Group at Insero & Co. as a Certified Public Accountant since 1999. He is responsible for the preparation of all estate tax, gift tax, generation skipping tax, and fiduciary income tax returns for Insero clients. Alan works directly with partners and clients with estate, gift, generation skipping, and business succession tax planning. He also works with attorneys to develop and implement transfer and income tax efficient strategies for high-net-worth individuals and has developed a specialty in income tax compliance and planning for trusts and estates that own business interests.

He is also involved with developing and implementing charitable giving strategies, working with clients and attorneys to establish charitable trusts and foundations, as well as with community foundations to assist clients with achieving their charitable giving goal.

Alan enjoys assisting clients with planning and saving for college education. He advises clients of the estate tax, generation skipping tax, gift tax, and income tax benefits of funding college education for children and grandchildren. Alan is involved with recommending and implementing tax efficient strategies for saving and funding a college education.

Alan taught courses in estate planning and taxation as an adjunct professor at Nazareth College. He has been a guest speaker at SUNY Brockport, Nazareth College, and the Young Entrepreneurs Academy and has led seminars presented by the Monroe County Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of Rochester, and the Estate Planning Council of Tompkins County. His speaking engagements cover a variety of estate and fiduciary income tax planning topics as well as topics relating to the tax issues surrounding college education planning.
